Goliath Bats (also known Giant Bats, Horse Bats or Hopping Bats, and nicknamed Shantaks by Hal Jeffer) are giant bats native to Tartarus. They resemble oversized, powerful bats who hop and glide around rather than fly. Their faces are long, almost equine, with large teeth and a powerful jaw to crush their primary food source, Giant Beetles.
